Understanding Cannabinoids

Cannabinoids are naturally occurring compounds found in the cannabis plant that interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system.

Many adults explore cannabinoid products as part of their personal wellness routines.

Our goal is to provide high-quality products and educational resources so individuals can make informed decisions about cannabinoid wellness.

Cannabidiol (CBD)

CBD is a naturally occurring compound derived from hemp. Unlike THC, another compound found in the plant, CBD does not produce a psychoactive “high.” Instead, it interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which helps regulate many physiological functions. Today, CBD is one of the most widely recognized and commonly used cannabinoids around the world.

Cannabigerol (CBG)

CBG is unique because it serves as a precursor to many other cannabinoids, meaning it appears during the early growth stages of the hemp plant. Often referred to as the “mother cannabinoid,” CBG is the compound from which other cannabinoids develop as the plant matures. In recent years, CBG has gained increasing attention for its potential therapeutic benefits.

Cannabinol (CBN)

CBN is commonly linked to relaxation and calming effects. It forms naturally over time as THC breaks down through oxidation, particularly when hemp is exposed to air or light. Although research on CBN is still developing, many people already use it to support relaxation, promote restful sleep, and help create a sense of calm.

How products are tested

Below you will find the Certificate of Analysis (COA) for our products, from our bulk oils to our finished products. Rigorous testing is done in-house and verified through independent third-party labs using HPLC analysis. These reports will show the quality and safety of our products.

To find the report for your product, please click on the magnifying glass in the right corner of the viewer below and search for your product’s lot or batch number.

What is a COA (Certificate of Analysis)?

COA third-party lab tested CBD product refers to a CBD product that has been independently tested by a laboratory that is not affiliated with the manufacturer. The results of this testing are documented in a Certificate of Analysis (COA), which verifies the product’s contents, quality, and safety.

Certificate of Analysis is a detailed lab report that shows exactly what is in a CBD product. It confirms the levels of cannabinoids such as CBD, THC, CBG, and CBN, and ensures the product matches what is listed on the label.

How to read a COA

Why Third-Party Testing Matters

Third-party testing means the analysis is performed by an independent laboratory, not the company producing the product. This helps ensure the results are unbiased and trustworthy.

What a COA Typically Tests For

A COA commonly includes testing for lab results

  • Cannabinoid potency – verifies the amount of CBD and other cannabinoids present
  • THC levels – confirms the product complies with legal limits (typically ≤0.3% THC in hemp products in the U.S.)
  • Contaminants – screens for harmful substances such as pesticides, heavy metals, mold, bacteria, and residual solvents
  • Purity and quality – ensures the product is safe for consumption

Why It’s Important for Consumers

COA third-party lab testing provides transparency and helps consumers know they are purchasing a safe, accurately labeled, and high-quality CBD product. Many reputable CBD brands make their COAs available online or through a QR code on the product packaging so customers can easily review the lab results.

Are cannabinoids legal?

Cannabinoids that are derived from hemp are legal in the United States under the 2018 Farm Bill, as long as the product contains no more than 0.3% THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Hemp-derived cannabinoids such as CBD, CBG, and CBN can be legally produced, sold, and purchased when they meet these federal guidelines.

Hemp vs. Marijuana

The key difference comes down to THC content. Hemp plants contain very low levels of THC (0.3% or less), while marijuana plants contain higher amounts that can cause psychoactive effects. Hemp-derived cannabinoids do not produce the intoxicating “high” associated with marijuana.

Quality and Compliance Matter

Reputable cannabinoid products are produced from legally grown hemp and are third-party lab tested, with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) available to verify cannabinoid levels, THC compliance, and product safety.
