Barry M. Gordon, MD

Co-Founder, Physicians' Natural Choice

Dr. Barry M. Gordon, MD, is the founder of Physicians' Natural Choice, a physician-led wellness company dedicated to providing high-quality cannabinoid products and education for adults exploring natural wellness options.

A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. Gordon completed his medical training and became board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He spent more than 35 years practicing emergency medicine in Ohio, providing frontline care to patients and gaining extensive experience in acute and complex medical conditions.

Following a distinguished career in emergency medicine, Dr. Gordon relocated to Florida for health reasons. His move coincided with the 2016 passage of Florida's Medical Cannabis Constitutional Amendment, which expanded access to medical cannabis for qualified patients. Inspired by this development and the needs of patients seeking alternative wellness options, Dr. Gordon established The Compassionate Cannabis Clinic in Venice, Florida.

Through his work at the clinic, Dr. Gordon has had the privilege of caring for thousands of medical cannabis patients, helping them explore responsible and informed approaches to plant-based wellness. His experience in both conventional medicine and the medical cannabis field provides him with a unique perspective on integrative care.

Dr. Gordon believes that, with proper education, guidance, and follow-up, cannabinoid-based products may play a supportive role in adult health and wellness—either independently or alongside other wellness approaches.

His vision continues to guide Physicians' Natural Choice, with a commitment to providing high-quality cannabinoid products, reliable education, and responsible access to plant-based wellness options.

Ruta Jouniari

Co-Founder, Physicians' Natural Choice

Ruta Jouniari has more than three decades of experience in the healthcare industry. Her career began in the health insurance sector, where she worked with organizations such as PHCS and Aetna for over 15 years as a Managed Care Coordinator and Contract Negotiator, helping build relationships between healthcare providers and insurance networks. Ruta is a graduate of Business Administration from University of Massachusetts in Finance and MS . 

After gaining extensive experience in healthcare systems, Ruta transitioned into healthcare recruitment, specializing in placing nurses and therapists in medical facilities. Her dedication and entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish her own healthcare recruitment company, which she successfully operated for more than 22 years.

Ruta later entered the medical cannabis industry, where she developed a deeper understanding of the plant and its potential role in supporting wellness. Through her work in the field and by listening to countless patient stories, she gained a profound respect for the cannabis plant and the importance of responsible education surrounding its use.

Ruta believes strongly in the balance between holistic, natural approaches and conventional medicine, recognizing that both can play important roles in personal wellness.

Inspired by her experiences and the people she met along the way, Ruta partnered with Dr. Barry Gordon, MD, to develop Physicians' Natural Choice (PNC) a line of high-quality, science-informed, physician-inspired CBD products.
